Howdy. I've got a line on what a guy says is a true CL160. He doesn't have the title and is unsure of the year. Any idea if this thing is legit?

A "True" CL 160 will have a CL160-10XXXXX serial number and a factory 67mm plug where the electric starter fits....
The "not quite a CL160" was actually a CB160 fitted by the dealership with a "D" kit. It would have a CB160-10XXXXX serial and USUALLY retained the electric starter (but not always).....
A "true" CL160 wouldn't have turn signals, so those were probably add-ons....

That might be rough to come by...... Personally, I'd post a "wanted" ad up on the f-160 group and with "group W racing"..... They come by/go through a lot of 160 for parts for their racers, a skidplate would interfere with the required oil-catch belly pan, so the won't need them.... Vicious Cycles would be another place to try..... viciouscycles.com

genuine or not, that thing's cute as can be...if you are going to do an actual restoration back to stock please document with lots of pics...I've never checked into the 160s (I'm stuck on 350s and have accumulated such a hoard it's hard to switch) are parts difficult to source?

DANGER Will Robinson!...er...outobie!..... Once "sloper fever" gets you, you need several "sloper engined" bikes in the garage to even start to reduce the fever....
125SS twins, 160's, early 175's and the 250/305 72/77 series bikes are the medicines.....LMAO... (Don't know why I'm laughing, I have a terminal case)....

Hmmm...I think my next BIG move is going to be a cl77 or superhawk...that's only a 20cc difference right

by the way did you ever get that one from a week or so ago...I think it was in Ohio?

No...My truck engine died and tapped out my savings (and then some)......Unless I can hit the lottery, I may not be able to finish my 175 sloper/vert CL77 look-alike this spring........

BTW.... Bill440cars has a pic of a 305 bottom carrying a 450 DOHC top end (set at the slope)....Awesome!........

I've got 3 350 projects going now and just spent about as much as I care to in little bits for a while but...

I've still got the $2500 sitting in my dresser from selling my cafe bike last month...

I was going to start tapping into that for powder, paint and a sergeant seat for the moneypit cafe but if I could find something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-CB ... 2eb4360e84

within 100 miles of annapolis for what I've got in my little envelope then the money pit will have to wait.
